Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 1 January 2025
These terms set out the conditions that govern enrolment in our courses, the use of this website, and the relationship between Lannatim and its students. Please read them with care before enrolling or writing to us.
1. Parties
These terms form an agreement between Lannatim (referred to as "the Studies", "we", or "us"), operating from Lot 4-12, Plaza Damansara, Medan Setia 1, Bukit Damansara, 50490 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and any individual (referred to as "the student" or "you") who enrols in a course or makes use of this website.
By submitting an enrolment enquiry, confirming a place on a course, or using this website, you agree to be bound by these terms.
2. Nature of the Courses
Lannatim provides financial education. Our courses are designed to assist students in reading, understanding, and reflecting on financial statements, investment structures, and related documents. They are offered for educational purposes only.
Nothing in our courses, course materials, written commentaries, or any communication from Lannatim constitutes financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, or any other form of regulated advice. No content offered by the Studies should be construed as a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any financial instrument.
Students who require personalised financial advice are encouraged to consult a licensed financial adviser registered with the Securities Commission Malaysia or Bank Negara Malaysia, as appropriate to their circumstances.
3. Enrolment
Enrolment in a course begins with an enquiry submitted through this website or by direct correspondence with the Studies office. An enrolment is confirmed only when the Studies has responded in writing to confirm the student's place and the student has made the required payment in full.
We reserve the right to decline an enrolment at our discretion, without obligation to provide a reason. Where payment has been received prior to such a decision, it will be returned in full.
Places in our cohorts are limited. An enquiry does not constitute a reservation of a place. We recommend writing to us at your earliest convenience if you are considering a course.
4. Fees and Payment
Course fees are as stated on this website at the time of enrolment. We reserve the right to adjust fees for future cohorts, but any fee quoted to a student in a written confirmation will be honoured for that cohort.
Payment is due in full prior to the commencement of the course, unless a separate written arrangement has been agreed. We will provide bank transfer details upon confirmation of a place.
Course fees are stated in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and are inclusive of all course materials provided by the Studies. They do not include any third-party reading materials the student may choose to purchase independently.
5. Cancellation and Withdrawal
Cancellation by the student: If you withdraw from a confirmed course more than fourteen days before the course commencement date, you are entitled to a full refund of the course fee paid, less any reasonable administrative costs incurred.
If you withdraw within fourteen days of the commencement date, or after the course has begun, we are not generally able to offer a refund, though we will consider the circumstances of each case with reasonable flexibility. Please write to us if you find yourself in difficulty.
Cancellation by the Studies: In the event that the Studies cancels a course before it commences โ whether due to insufficient enrolment, unforeseen circumstances, or any other reason โ enrolled students will receive a full refund of all fees paid.
If the Studies must cancel or significantly reschedule sessions after a course has begun, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule affected sessions. If rescheduling is not practicable, a proportionate refund will be offered.
6. Tutored Reading Term
The Tutored Reading Term is a twelve-week arrangement offered to students who have completed an introductory course offered by the Studies. Eligibility is confirmed by the Studies upon receipt of an enquiry.
The term may be renewed by mutual written agreement at the close of each twelve-week period. Neither party is under any obligation to renew. Either party may choose not to continue without providing a reason.
Fortnightly meetings are arranged by correspondence between the student and the assigned tutor. If a student is unable to attend a scheduled meeting, they should notify the tutor with as much notice as is practicable. Missed sessions are not generally carried over, though the tutor will endeavour to be accommodating where circumstances warrant.
7. Conduct
Students are expected to engage with the courses in a spirit of honest enquiry and to treat tutors and fellow students with courtesy. The Studies reserve the right to withdraw a student from a course, without refund, if their conduct is found to be disruptive, dishonest, or harmful to others.
Course materials provided by the Studies are for the personal use of enrolled students. They may not be reproduced, shared publicly, or used for commercial purposes without the prior written consent of the Studies.
8. Intellectual Property
All course materials, written commentaries, reading guides, and other content produced by Lannatim remain the intellectual property of the Studies. Students are granted a personal, non-transferable licence to use these materials for their own study during and after the course.
The content of this website, including its design, structure, and written text, is the property of Lannatim. It may not be reproduced in whole or in part without our written consent.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, Lannatim shall not be liable for any loss arising from a student's financial decisions, investment activities, or any action taken in reliance on the content of our courses or any communication from the Studies.
Our courses are educational in nature and do not guarantee any particular outcome. The value of any investment may rise or fall. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Students are responsible for their own decisions.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
10. Website Use
This website is offered for informational purposes. We make reasonable efforts to keep its content accurate and current, but we do not warrant that it is free from error. Course details, fees, and schedules are subject to change; the authoritative information for any enrolment is contained in the written confirmation issued by the Studies.
The website may contain links to external resources such as regulatory publications or publicly available documents. We are not responsible for the content or accuracy of those external pages.
11. Personal Data
The collection and use of personal data submitted in connection with your use of this website or your enrolment in a course is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
Where a dispute arises, we would first ask that you write to us directly. We will make every effort to resolve matters by correspondence before either party considers formal proceedings.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may amend these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. The terms in effect at the time of your enrolment are those that govern your course. Continued use of this website following any amendment constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
